Research Fieldtrip

Oral History of the Saudi Arabian Desert

A documentation of several research trips to the Saudi Arabian town of AlUla.
Stories, poetry and songs are passed on orally in the desert, and the purpose of this fieldwork was to document and preserve some of those fleeting histories.

Below you can see a glimpse of what I documented and discovered.

Sponsored by Arts University Bournemouth, HQWS and the Royal Commission for AlUla. Footage owned by the above.

Chapter 1 follows Mohammad, who was born in the old town of Alula in one of the mud houses.
